IADE professor elected to the International Advisory Board of the Design Research Society

11 julho 2024

Emília Duarte, Professor of Design at IADE, has been elected to the International Advisory Council (IAC) of the Design Research Society (DRS).

The appointment was announced at the General Assembly held on June 28th in Boston, United States of America (USA).

The IAC is the governing body of the DRS. It has around 30 international members who elect, advise and support the Executive Board, as well as participating in different working groups. A working group might, for example, develop the Digital Library, support and develop new and existing Special Interest Groups (SIGS) or help organize the next DRS conference.

The Design Research Society is a scientific society committed to the promotion and development of design research, which was founded in the UK in 1966. The Society's origins lie in the Design Methods Conference held in London in 1962, which identified a core of people who shared an interest in new approaches to the design process.
