Co-funded UNIDCOM/IADE project associates with National Fisherman's Day celebrations
The R&D project of UNIDCOM/IADE - European University, called "Blue Circular PostBranding Project" received support from the Association for the Sustainable Development of the Saloia Region (A2S), with co-financing from the Mar2020 Programme, as it is demonstrated to be an example of approach for the blue circular economy.
This project involves academia, the fishing community, civil society, the political and business spheres, with the main objective of transforming daily discarded waste into something new and valuable, capable of promoting conscious and globally sustainable consumption. The project also has as its motto, another project taking place in Portugal, called "Fishing for a sea without waste" promoted by Docapesca - Portos e Lotas, S.A. with the support of APLM - Portuguese Marine Waste Association.
The project was also monitored by BlueInvest through mentoring promoted by PwC of Luxembourg.
As part of the celebrations of the European Day of the Sea, May 20, and the National Fisherman's Day, May 31, the project, which falls under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 of Agenda 2030, which is the protection of marine life, is associated with these celebrations, with the publication of a video that is published on the YouTube page of UNIDCOM/IADE and other channels of IADE.
The results of the "Blue Circular PostBranding Project" will also be presented in the celebrations of the National Fisherman's Day, in Ericeira Business Factory, on May 31st, by the UNIDCOM/IADE teachers and researchers responsible for the project, Professors Carlos Duarte and Isabel Farinha, who will also open the event.
